4th Building Simulators
The Air Force Museum Foundation is proud to announce it has expanded their attraction offerings in partnership with Pulseworks, LLC, a world-class simulation and immersive entertainment provider. A new suite of simulator rides including the Pulseworks Virtual Reality (VR) Transporter, the first of its kind in North America, opened to the public on June 8, 2016 in conjunction with the Grand Opening of the new Fourth Building at the National Museum of the United States Air Force.
The new Pulseworks VR Transporter is an innovative multimedia motion experience featuring exciting new technology to take patrons on an exclusive Space Voyage experience. Virtual reality technology allows patrons to see in all directions within a 3D world via high-tech goggles. Pulseworks has coupled amazing visuals with its state-of-the-art motion delivery systems and 4D-effects to create a truly immersive and sensory experience. The Pulseworks’ VR Transporter will launch with a stunning Space Walk VR ride that will take riders on an extra-vehicular activity (EVA) to the International Space Station high above the Earth!
Accompanying this new attraction in the Fourth Building is an exciting motion capsule ride called the ESP. This dynamic and innovative simulator mimics the motion of any aircraft or space vehicle, allowing riders to experience the feeling of really flying or moving at great speeds. Wings: Flights of Courage, a journey through the history of aviation, is the signature ride on the ESP, placing riders right in the cockpits of many famous aircraft, from the Wright Brothers to military jets of the modern day. Other ride options include historic space shuttle missions, forward looking deep space voyages and many other adventure rides.
360º Interactive Simulators
Utilizing state-of-the-art motion control and high performance digital flat panel technology, the I‐360 immerses riders in realism. It is a fully interactive and intensely fun experience where a pilot and gunner can engage in simulated air combat via individual joystick controls, manuevering the simulator as they race to fullfill their objectives. The I-360 pitches up and down and can roll 360-degrees upon command, making each action-packed mission a blast! Patrons first qualify and hone their flying skills on one of our pre-‐flight training stations, which provides orientation and practice with all of the Simulator's control surface and ordinance release joystick functions. Pulseworks makes many aircraft models available on the I-360 control system for patrons to choose from, including the P-51 Mustang, F-4 Phantom II, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and more!
The Morphis MovieRide has been designed with families in mind. Capable of seating up to 12 people at once, this motion simulator can take you through the furthest regions of outer-space, a tornado, or even through a cosmic roller coaster! There are five different rides to choose from.
