Air Force Museum Foundation receives gift for special exhibit
Dayton, Ohio – Feb 12, 2024 — The Air Force Museum Foundation, Inc., (AFMF) recently received a gift of $5,000 from Dayton Aerospace Inc. to support the upcoming special exhibit Dinosaurs in Motion at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force™ (NMUSAF).
The AFMF is the non-profit organization that raises funds and awareness in support of the NMUSAF.
Dinosaurs in Motion, produced by Imagine Exhibitions, uses 14 life-size, fully interactive, recycled-metal dinosaur sculptures with exposed mechanics inspired by actual fossils as the focus for exposing visitors to multi-generational STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) concepts.
“Dayton Aerospace is pleased to help sponsor Dinosaurs in Motion at the NMUSAF,” said Tom Wells, vice-president of Dayton Aerospace Inc. “Kids love dinosaurs and the interactive mechanics of these dinos will spark their curiosity about both prehistoric life and modern machines. The amazing flying machines and other technology displayed throughout the museum will add to a day of excitement and discovery. Dinosaurs in Motion is free to NMUSAF visitors. It opens Saturday, Feb. 17, and will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May 13.
With help from individual donors and companies like Dayton Aerospace Inc., the AFMF fully funds special exhibits such as 2023’s Survival: The Exhibition and Steampunk: A Fantastical Hands-on Adventure at the NMUSAF. In addition, the AFMF funds permanent exhibits about Air Force history including the Enlisted Force Exhibit and Search and Rescue Exhibit.
